This isn't going to end well!

On that point, anyone any idea why have we never seen the type of mainstream coverage of the war in Ukraine that we are now seeing (yet again!) from the middle east?

Any particular reason?

One settler one bullet might not have been the official song of the ANC but plenty of its supporters liked the sound. Same with Smith in Rhodesia he didn't believe in black majority rule and wasn't going to negotiate either. 1400 Israeli dead 7000 Palestinian dead .To keep killing Palestinians just shows the Israelis to be what the Palestinians believe them to be. Why do Hamas want to destroy Israel? It's really not for fun there's a reason for their hatred.
Hamas wants to destroy Israel because it is a Jewish state. (y)

And how exactly do you think they can target just hamas, who are they ?where are they? , its another Afghanistan/Vietnam just different clothes, an impossible task.
Killing Palestinian civilians en masse for revenge, the Israeli are no better than the terrorist who perpetrated the initial atrocities.
No.

When I was serving in NI we knew then - and this has subsequently been confirmed as right - who the vast, vast majority of players were, Republican and Unionist. I have no doubt whatsoever that Israel is in the same situation, or better, regarding Hamas. And, since tech has improved greatly, they'll have facial recognition, prints and - probably - even DNA to help id suspects.

Not an impossible task, but certainly a very difficult one. But Israel has the men and the kit and the need, so they'll do it. Vietnam and Afghanistan are poor analogies, neither were an existential matter for the US and its allies. If Israel doesn't win a war, Israel ceases to exist...

Israel isn't killing Palestinian civilians en masse as Hamas has and would Israelis. If that was Israel's intent, there wouldn't be a single Palestinian left, anywhere.

Hamas wants to destroy Israel because of what they’ve done to the Palestinian people rather than because of the ernicicity/ religion of the majority of its citizens.

You're guilty of believing hamas figures, just like the BBC believed them when they said 500 dead from an Israeli airstrike, how they knew it was 500 immediately afterwards I don't know. They and the bbc have gone a bit quiet about hamas killing 500 of their own, I bet the real total is a fraction of 7000.

The BBC did not per se believe the 500 number. In the immediate aftermath of the explosion the BBC correspondents along with other news agencies reported the situation as they were told by the Palestinian Authorities. Who were wrong. Subsequently the BBC as a news organisation and its individual correspondents changed the position as more information became available from other sources with a different version of the facts. The real fault is immediate reporting of news and events leaving inadequate time fir verification. This leads to fixed views of events and false narrative, such as your post which seems to fail to acknowledge the revised news position of the BBC and other mainstream news organisations. Cheers

The news is a commodity, clicks are the aim.
the immediate reports are necessary, in a competitive market.
news of "israeli atrocity" is obviously a good traffic generator

This has to stop. The population of Gaza is being slaughtered and 50% of the people are children for Christ's sake! Everyone, email your MP today and demand they call for an immediate cease fire. It's easy just follow the link below:

100,000 Protesters today in London alone,
Whatever the rights and wrongs of the situation in Gaza, we are sitting on a powder keg, of retaliation, for our government sanctioning Israel’s actions,
I haven’t an answer, but the west must have a rethink, or problems are going to get nearer to home,

Ever seen signs like that carried on the streets of London when Hamas is firing huge numbers of rockets at civilian targets in Israel?

Nah, me neither.

There seems to be one hell of a difference in the size & type of rockets the Palestinians are firing & the damage they are causing compared to the utter destruction Israeli weapons are causing, there seems to be very few reports of Israelis being killed by Palestinian rockets, kinda like the David & Goliath story with a very different ending.
