Hi all.anyone that has or uses wipers/lickers...what do ye think of them?? If he were to get one made what would ye include in the spec or what would ye change from the normal? Any thoughts welcome! Thanks...

The logic one, whilst expensive , takes some beating with its contra-rotating roller. Saves a lot of time giving a second pass due to poorly applied chemicals. Hard to justify I’d say - ideal machine to hire in twice to control thistles on a reseed , but then send it back.

Got a logic last autumn but only used it once, it seems to do a good job and is well made. I had some big tall thistles growing in a reseed and didn’t want to damage the clover underneath. Stewardship people prefer them on the conservation land as well.

I made a few of them for friends over the years but my workshop time was put on hold wen little ones came along.Friend that had one sold it and has asked would I b interested in making him a bigger one for mounting on the tractor.I asked him what he would change on the new one and he said make it wider and anything else I could think of so here I am looking for ideas...these are carpet types as opposed to bristle types...

Used to have a Vicon (I think) 6 metre one, bought 2nd hand, used it for bolters in fodder beet. Bought a new one for a quad that a local dealer couldn't shift at a good price & used it for parts to fix it up with rope wicks & needles.
Worked well enough, the compressor on it was a bit underpowered but just used the airline to get the pressure up to start off.
