Three Acres Shelley - Fire

Not strictly an agricultural post but certainly a popular venue with farming groups …

“As all our food is freshly prepared to order this may result in a delay at busy periods. Some dishes may contain nuts and/or shellfish. We do not serve halal/kosher meat. Game may contain lead shot. Please make us aware of any allergies.”

In the “Good old days” (sic) I was part of a group of 20+ Yorkshire / Lancashire direct selling dairy farmers who amongst other aims were able to negotiate a truly significant bulk buying discount on dairy cake - one of the stipulations however was that each farm which signed up to that deal took a minimum quantity and the successful feed company paid for 2 a la carte meals per farm at what would be nowadays known as a “gastropub”.
The Three Acres was one of those, that was the first time I had ever seen a bowl of mussels starter in white wine served at a table to the secretary of the group 😳
