My Thwaites 6 ton dumper (5 stud) axle seals need replacing.
I have removed the hub cover, the circlip, Gear sun and bolts, see attached pic.
Its a JCB axle, part number 450 10302P .
how do I remove the Gear Annulus ring (my finger points to this ring in the pic) ?
how is this ring retained in place ?

no expert but them 3 holes are threaded, so stick a bolt in them and jack it off.

Thanks, done.
I tried lining up the planet gears with the gear sun before seating the gear sun and circlip but I still cannot get it to slide in.
Is there a trick to lining up everything before reassembly ?

That worked, thanks.
Thwaites recommends mobil 424.
This seems to be an SAE 80W, I presume any sae 80w gear oil will do ?
The only oil i have at present is dexron III, Can I use dexron III in these axles or is that not recommended ?

No and no.

Go buy jcb hp plus oil from dealer. Got the right additives in for brakes.

Will do.
Different question.
The seal on the front prop shaft is leaking.
Do I need to remove the transfer box from the dumper to fix this seal ?
