Ticks on lambs- treatment threshold?

My lambs are mostly 2-4 weeks old. Last couple of days I've caught a dozen lambs to check weights and the majority of them have one or two ticks on them. I treated for lice last year which would have given some tick coverage (spot on).

Just wondering if there is a tick threshold above which should treat and below which let the lambs get on with it. What do others do?

I only get bothered with ticks on the hill. I spray the lambs before they go to the hill with either Crovect or Dysect.

I phoned the vet officer for the company that produces Dysect and he felt the product was fine for lambs if they are over 10 days old (product guidelines on bottle don't have info for young lambs). Since then I've ignored the Crovect guidelines and apply 10ml to all lambs regardless of age if I ever use it.

It's a quick and easy job with minimal fuss.

Did he tell you how much to apply to young lambs for ticks, we are doing ours to go to hill today/tomorrow , doesn't really say on container. We put 25ml on them in one application from back of neck to tail, if you don't mind me asking how much do you use
