Tipping trailer ram seals

How difficult is it to repair trailer rams. Oil squirts out as the first stage gets to the end of the travel. I assume it will need seals on both ends. May aswell do all stages at the same time.

If it’s got a screw on gland it’s not too bad, if it’s been welded at the bottom and needs cutting off it’s a whole new kettle of fish!!!
The small waste of oil is perhaps not worth worrying about if its going to be alot of work to fix. It only dose it first tip.

Get someone who knows what they are doing to repair it, they have the tooling and experience , seal kits are cheap until they need replaced again after short periods.

Paying £35 to £50 an hour is good value when it’s done right, does take away the satisfaction of repairing it yourself but if your doing that your not doing anything else.

Have an honest look at it and see if you have what is required to get it apart. A big pair of stilsons probably won’t cut it.

take it to someone else if it’s going to be a struggle without all the right gear.
