On a 13.5 foot tipping trailer, how far from the back tailboard should the axel be situated. This is a single axel and is 7 foot wide. Is there any rule of thumb regarding the distance ratio in front of the axel versus back of the axel for tippers in general.
Right at the back as when tipped high all the weight moves to the back and ring will try to pull out of tractor hitch. If axle further forward and load sticks it will lift back of tractor. Then load slips and tractor comes back down with bang. That’s assuming something hasn’t broken free in that process!
