Tips for applying decals

Heat gun them off SLOWLY

apply new with a weak soapy water and a magnet holing either end, my cousin does it for a living and says the application solution and prep/cleaning solution/detar are the most important

You wouldnt believe the vans she gets in the owners havent washed them since new and caked in tar.

Get a toffee wheel to help remove the left over residue is useful after softening with petrol or panel wipe.

A spray bottle then and spray the panel and the decal sticky side with mildy soapy water. Once applied this will allow you to position it before squeegeeing out the water.

this lad is up round the Derry country NI, decal shed.
there's a few tips in this video that you might find very handy, this lad's been at it 30+ yrs so hes a pro, you'd want to be good applying then dry.
best to do it his way of aligning up and spray on some water with a bit of fairy in it as the lads say.
skip to 1.30 to avoid the Cavan accent...

What to clean with and how to remove old ones for a start. @REStracTORATION and anyone else
Sorry for late reply

Heat gun to remove
Then tar and glue remover to remove glue

Depending on the decal type
You can use soapy water to get them lined up the squeeze the water out from the back with a felt applicator and hairdryer

Or just wing it dry tape them on with masking tape peel the backing off and tack it on via a finger dab in the middle them once your happy work from middle out to force air out

If you get a bubble use a pin
