Tips for fitting a new old tyre

I've fitted 24" rim used tyres a few times with no bother but this 28incher almost has me beaten.
It's a 2008 mitchelin xeobib 520 60R28.
Obviously the bead has to sit in the central recess of the hub but try as I might I can't ratchet strap the bugger down using chocks so I can lever in the last quarter of the bead over the rim. I started at the top so gravity is on my side.
My Mrs says Stop being so tight and get a tyre fitter in.

Any compression tips? or do I bite the bullet? if that is tyre fitters put old tyres on? (Do agri tyres only have a ten year life like normal tyres?)

Unless you have all the gear it’s a damn side easier and quicker to just get the lads in

If you’re on the last quarter and the opposite side is actually in the recess then you should get 28” tyre on with your heels or with gentle tapping with a sledge

Thanks for all the replies. I know about H&S and basic physics so appreciate the fear of risk. I got sorted with a fifth and sixth check and its still holding air.

Plenty soap and more soap vice grips inside at top to hold it and small bites … keep you fit it’s hard work but satisfying once achieved .

Is it just simply a bar of soap ??
The stuff they have in a bucket ??
I couldn't get a quad bead to seal recently. Paid the £18 and sorted
Bead wouldn't seal for me ?????
