TLC

So, what does TLC mean to you?

I'll the first to say most of my gear is not in its first flush of youth, nor is it first hand, but I know what it is. Old, used and mostly well functioning tat.

In saying that I still try to make a fairly decent attempt at keeping stuff up.

For example, how valuable is seeing what your doing? Is it over-rated?

Have to say, Tractors described as 'average' in England definitely end up 'very clean' or 'very good' once they cross the Irish Sea.
That's not even counting those that have their dash odometer 'recalibrated'

That's a tad harsh, almost offended by that ................
Obviously not of Irish descent ..........

Really?

I don't go out of my way to troll or say something controversial just for the sake of it, I have found several machines losing 3000 hours on the boat.

It does happen. Not saying regularly, or even most of the time, but happens it does.

Just as it can happen anywhere.

Anyhow, I was more referring to the description of the vehicles condition that it is sold in, in Ireland its often more optimistic than it would be in England.

As @multi power mentioned, something on eBay 'requiring TLC' means it's f**ked. Vendors state that when they have no idea why something is not working, know what is wrong and know it's a very expensive repair or think that actually stating the faults will mean bidding will stall earlier.
