After a false start Friday finally got to do some wheat,started at 16% and got to14.9.

Been shopping for parts today also. Needed some straw walker bearing parts. Turns out dealer only had one of two parts I needed. Thankfully have an SKF no so can hopefully pick one up from bearing supplier tomorrow. Make an interesting price comparison against dealer....Simply Bearings want £20.

It was £75 before the 15% discount which is a bloody rip off but the sun was shineing and I wanted to crack on, on hind sight I should have just made one in the first place .

I will always try and match bearings with non genuine if possible we've got a really good bearing place locally and given a day or two they can normally match things up.

I do the same with sprockets, I cut the old sprockets off the bosses and machine them down then I buy blank sprockets the right pitch and teeth and then machine them to fit and weld on. For the sake of a few winters days in the workshop you can soon save a grand or two.

The old chap took me off for the last 300 or so bales so I could get the loader on the Deere and start playing big lego

Once both trailers were loaded I made a stack in the field

Did some wheat yesterday . A very poor second wheat to start . Don't bother with Graham, he's pants. Then a much better Diego, which is in its 4th year . At least it was dry and properly ripe. ( without any roundup !)
