Ha!! Classic!!! Prop just droped down, sump still on the floor!!! Done a few bits and bobs in similar situations. The best was a problematic gearbox after a repair!! Split tractor, front cover off expecting a litre or so of oil into bucket. Out came some spring, circlips, half a synchro and clutch pack plates!!!!

Been a few weeks since I posted anything, mainly because farm work has just been the usual day to day stuff and I've been stuck in the office a lot.

Here is my latest project, planning application to demolish a house and replace it with a smaller one (in the foreground) to allow an access road to two new blocks of town houses on a former industrial site which has been inaccessible for 10 years due to the residential developments springing up around it.

They used to give out enamel badges - "The lucky cow " written on them and were quite in demand . If I can find one - I'm sure I will have one somewhere - I'll post a pic. They were
Knew I would find one . It must be many many years since this saw the light of day . Found it at the bottom of a a junk bucket

Rear suspension on pick up has suddenly had a boost.
Both now for sale, if anyone wants them they can borrow the trailer to take them away:rolleyes::rolleyes:
We got the heifers home, kept them in to settle a little then threw them out to outwinter with some AAx stores.

You'd think it was spring. plenty of grass in there to keep them quiet but they'll get barley and a nibble of silage to keep them going.
Then picked up a couple of stray gateposts from an away field. They'll be replanted somewhere a little more useful.

That brings back memories of my time in oz! Baling at night because it was too hot and dry through the day! Unheard of over here!! I remember baling till about 11am and the hay just started shattering and going like chaff
This morning was horrendous. 3am no dew at all and seeing the overnight temps for next 6 days, none likely. Spent more time out of tractor cleaning throat where net feeds in and cutting net when it did due to material being caught between knife. None of which impressed me as I'm weak with stomach cramps ATM .
Seriously thought of going home and hooking boom spray on rake tractor and spraying a bay at a time just to get some moisture into it. But I preserved and 5.5 hrs later finished 151 bales off of 20 ac.. 3.5hrs according to monitor:shifty: Shower and gone back to bed.

They hadn't even bothered to tell the poor chap what was wrong with his tractor! Just stripped it and fudged off:banghead: although the bloke has a reputation for pulling stuff to bits then never putting it back together.
Personally I wouldn't have even offered him the work.

The guy is well known in the area for leaving stuff in bits these days, he is good at getting people up and running if it's a couple of hours of a job and straight forward fix but if it needs parts he's not interested anymore:(.
It's a shame as he use to be the go to guy in our area and there's more than enough work for or everyone, we use to use him ourselves back before I got going in the job but he no interest anymore, just think he's working for retirement now.
