Went to see how the drainage gang were getting on today following on from yesterday’s post. We now have at least 3 springs flowing through drains possibly 150 years old! They dug the man made chamber apart to find the laterals heading into the main. The old horseshoe clay drain on flat tiles got to 2 meters in solid clay before they gave up trying to follow it to the source. Imagine digging that out by hand back in the day when installing the drain!

I also found out today that using metal rods to find drains is actually real. Thought I had magical powers when I had a go!

First cut of decent grass is in. Spotted a nearby contractor with his Lely wagon in Fendt guise. The other one is my neighbouring contractor with his Giga vitesse. I am alright with my ancient Super vitesse, she did great.

Formal Opening Ceremony for the Livestock Technology Centre at the Common Leys Campus, Hailey near Witney #abingdonandwitneycollege . Officially opened by Robert Courts MP.

QE supplied and fitted the Paneltim penning, gates, feeders , NEDAP Pig Performance Testing station, Nooyen Balance Floor and Midland #360farrower farrowing enclosures along with boot cleaning and other fixtures

The day was not only well organised and attended but the students shone as welcoming ambassadors and guides for the day
