I put this in the wrong thread earlier, but I still declare that it is new mower day.

To answer the points asked elsewhere again;
Yes it is a Vicon in disguise with 3 blades per rota
and, I bought a Kubota as the dealer is in the next village and I am trying to source a bit local too.

The bucket revealed in new bucket day yesterday came via him too.

Will be interested to see how this goes. Had one lined up before this virus all kicked off so put the purchase on hold as think money will be better in the bank. Think the 3 blade design is good and heard decent views on its vicon relative. What model is it? Anyone else running one/care to comment?

Tried this yesterday. It was a real test for it drilling Spring Oats into failed OSR and not in ideal conditions.
However I was very impressed

A very big thank you to Simon Weaving and Glen who drove it.

I want to add these to one of the DD / No-till threads and add photos of the growing crop as it progresses.
Which thread should this be @Warnesworth @Clive @ajd132 @SilliamWhale @Brisel or any of the other DDer’s of you I have missed?

There seem to be loads of arguments as to which the of drill to use (Discs v Tines). But I honestly don’t think any other drill could have worked in this situation.

Always good to have an option of both tine and disc. I drilled some barley in similar conditions yesterday. Should be fine. I think in the dry weather I'd take a 750 any day - firming wheel really does a job. But in the wet it can be more tricky.

If it fails it won't be the drill or the conditions. It will be the fact that it got v dry.

Finally turned the corner and got cattle out today. Cows out, yearlings in a bit longer until grass is ready.

Turned 2 Hereford X heifers out with their Angus bull calves this morning. Calved themselves yesterday morning, black heifer was 8 days early, other 2 days so exactly what we want from heifers, easy, no fuss calving. Normally try not to calve in but they and this winter had other ideas.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
