New greaseless bushes will be going in all 3 spots , new main pins and bushes as well, and a pretty smick gauge wheel arm and new spindle set up to take all the play out of the t handles. Photos to follow next week when Collin from Aricks Australia turns up.

Above quadrant has plenty of mates.....
Below is new one waiting to go on with an oem one in my hand. Aricks ones are double the thickness.View attachment 882209

Sold some wood destined for chipping.

Chipped the smallest stuff, nice and tidy. The piece on the right in the back will be done next year.

Took a look at the springbarley. Dug a hole in the middle of about 15 cm, zero moisture.

Winter rye for the dutch version of nature england, or naturel england, whatever.

Looking very good but I do not have a use for it. Maybe we'll mow and bale it just for straw.

Some old gateway to the field of barley, I love these old paths.

Following yesterdays raking the baler dude came along this morning, I was seriously expecting not very many bales and was a bit relaxed about starting to cart and wrap them, only just finished at 9 pm.

10 acre field, festololium, year 3. 165 solid bales av mc 31%.

Really pleased with that.

Top row on the near side the only bales that I had left for the bulls and the butchers beasts.

Interesting you changed from pallet forks to bag loader - I'd have thought forks would have been easier and given more space between the headstock and boat to save risking damage.
I thought the opposite, what a good idea considering the width of the boat the straps cant slip off the far side of the bag lifter.

Some may remember about a month ago I was using a Kelly Disc Chain to knock down my free summer “cover crop” of Roly Poly ( like Tumbleweed ) & Sow Thistle.
Well, in some places the Roly Poly was too tall & too thick & I ended up with some big turkeys nests of it across the paddock.
Plan to be planting chickpeas in this in a week or so ( once I finish my durum, which I will start in the coming week ), so took the opportunity to deal with them today. Because it’s our winter & we have clear skies & heavy dews, I only have a window of about 4 hours a day when anything will burn. After about 3.00pm & the chill starts in the air, game is over . . .
As a rule, I never stubble burn, ground cover is one of the greatest assets I can maintain here & I am not a fan of burning or anything that leaves the soul bare, but this is about dealing with the big lumps the planter won’t be able to go over ( especially at night when the dew has come in. At this time of the year we have fairly short days due to the dews ).
The drip torch I’m using is the tool the RFS ( Rural Fire Service, our “Bush fire” brigade ) use for lighting fires for back burning & creating fire breaks.
