So what was already a planned manic day turned somewhat hotter when the guy who owns this cottage decided to come down from Oxford yesterday after not being down since March and trim his garden a bit and then light it, not realising we’ve been in a pretty much continuous drought since March… around 6 acre or 8’ high gorse gone, wind changed direction a few times but never once towards his cottage 😮
4 fire engines, 6 hours later their still at it.
Old reservoir 200 metres away we used to use for spuds, the non local brigade said it was too small so they’d have to go 2.5 miles back to the hydrant 😂😂😂
I said if you drain 4m gallon with a single 2” hose on a petrol pump you’ll be doing seriously well 😂
I was having phone calls from people 15 mile away as they could see it was with me…

Bugger, could see the smoke in the distance from Newgale as we were off for some fish and chips. My youngest went for a walk as it was getting dark and said he could still see the smoke as it got dark and we're in a tin tent no far from Solva!

how come your pto speed is so high yet the tractor revs are at 2000 ours want go that high 2300?

Good spot! I’d had a glitch with the rear PTO sensor not displaying the speed, so the tech came out and fitted a new sensor, when we ran it up for the first time the rear speed display was dancing about all over the place, from 1030 where it should be, to 1290 just constantly changing. Told him I needed to get on so just left it for now until the tractor is free.
So the speed is actually around 1030 but the display is wrong.

Wierdly when you put the PTO’s in at idle, it’s rock steady.

You don't get away with much on TFF......someone always spots the problems !
Only reason I get away with it is cos the list would be so long they wouldn't have time to write it 😊
