I thought kenya didnt like white people owning land?
Nobody likes immigrants. There’s no laws based on colour but to own farmland you have to be a Kenya citizen though it can be got round by forming a Kenyan company. Any white person who has still got land they had at independence is either lucky, brave , bloody minded or rich enough to fight or bribe. There’s a push to reclaim the large ranches in Laikipia which are white owned and this would be a disaster for the wildlife. However it’s worth remembering that my wife’s family who arrived here in 1887 from India were excluded from owning land based on their colour until independence in 1963.
