Hurtling towards August and it seems like the weeks are flying by at a quickening pace.

Weather is still rosy although as previously stated it is starting to have adverse effects now. The main one being everyone saying “It’s too hot!” On the plus side, ice cream sales are up and on the news the other night a vineyard in the Midlands is having a bumper year! Not good for livestock farmers though as some are having to feed already.

Our works are Kirkby Mallory seemed to be finished but just as we are about to mobilise for home we were asked to “just chuck us another in there before you go please”. No problem, 3 days later we are ready to move. Love work like that . :)

Our 300mm twin wall job near Shipston on Stour is nearing completion. Even I am surprised at how well this has gone all things considered. The client has been away on holiday so he should come back and not see us on site, just where we have been; backfilled, looking tidy, water running and with a posh new manhole and outfalls.

The Lydney gang are pressing on. Am a little concerned as have not heard from them all week so either they are cracking on no problem or they have turned the lights out in South Gloucestershire and are working out the best well to tell me. Looking at the photos I have received I would say the former. Great job lads, going well and the client is a happy chappy.

Another hard, hot and sweaty weeks lads, thanks for all the graft, 'tis greatly appreciated. Have a cider or two this weekend, you have most definitely earned it and we will see you all Monday. :)

What's the benefit over tamp or brush finish?

Brush finish will wear off after about the 3rd time you scrape out. Tamp finish is a bit rough on feet. You’re supposed to be able to walk across the floor in your socks for it to be comfy for cows. Also a ramp finish is all in straight lines so if floor gets slippy and cows foot goes down the line it’ll slip, in diamonds it can’t slip straight out

How easy is it to clean in a feed passage situation, does much sh!t get caught in the grooves?
