Drilling Wheat into Linseed stubble this morning.
(Before anybody says it is too early, it isn’t. DD drilling needs doing 2 weeks earlier than conventional and conditions are ideal after Tuesdays rains).

Then this afternoon, rowing and baling this Herb and Legume pasture, which will be Roundup’d off and also planted into wheat using the Weaving GD next week.

Then went and sprayed off some wheat stubbles, ahead of planting with Winter Barley as it got dark.
The rain this weekend will help as I want it to help close the drill slots before I put the pre-ems on, rather that let it wash down onto the seed and hammer it.

New record down here at Hay today @glasshouse . Pen of 407 sheep from Booligal sold to $510/head. Heavy ewes at 65kgs.

Older ewes- about 115, for a good show from the usual suspects. Gimmers about 155 approx ! I left to find the smelling salts before the ewe lambs went through!

Wouldn't risk the outlay without the second better paying business ( they both stand alone ) the quicker I get done the more I can go out and earn

While I’ve been out and about, the wife has been more than a little busy in the farm kitchen doing 163 of these:

1 of them is destined for the Archbishop of Canterbury who’s coming to Exeter Cathedral tomorrow. As much as possible is home made with our own meat along with other local produce.
