How do you like the batrake?
Honestly, we really like it. Very little to go wrong with it and very simple to work, just takes a bit of working out the best way to do corners etc as when set up for our old Rollant 46 it was a lot longer than the working width so was tricky to get the 3rd forend right without it getting filled with lumps.it weighs very little so even the 7341 didn't really know it was there, just a shame the track width isn't a bit wider as feels a bit unstable on rough ground when folded up or when folding up into transport as its can be very easy to lift a wheel (both cases would probably be helped if the tyres had water in them)

OR.
Our esteemed customers probably don't want grain contaminated with sheep shite and e-coli; so I have decided all by myself, as a responsible seller, without needing to be told by anyone, to disinfect the shed prior to possible use as a temporary grain store.
If they really want the contamination, it is probably available at a discount, in haphazardly bulk tested imported grain.

A short week this week with the old Jubilee celebrations and all that.

King Kev and Cool Hand Luke finished off the backfilling and electric cable installation for the sewage treatment plant they were on last week. Just a case of waiting for it to arrive and then it will be hey presto, Bob’s your uncle and Fanny’s your aunt.

Boss Man Chris and Paul have spent a few more days at Hinkley to carry on with sorting out the wet spots. To help with the flow, they are installing some more outfalls further up the mains as currently the outfall main is about 400m long and picking up quite a few laterals on the way. With these extra outfalls we needed to carry out a bit of ditch clearing to prevent any possible blockages at a later stage, a tidy bit of ditching too if you don’t mind me saying so. All being of this should help ease the pressure which is exacerbated with the Rape roots.

We priced a small scheme a mile from our yard and was asked if we could get this finished before the Bank Holiday weekend. We do like to be as flexible and as helpful as possible, so it was a mad dash to get mobilised on Monday morning then putting in just over 900 metres of 80mm through a wet spot and connection into the existing main. There was a bit of an “Oh Bugger” moment (well several) when the heavens opened on Monday afternoon. Word from site said it made things a little claggy, but by the state of the mat in the office I would say it made things a tad more than claggy!!

Cool Hand Luke is back in there this morning just tittivating and weather permitting getting some aerial shots. King Kev was dispatched to Gloucester to pick up a pump station for a job we are scheduled to finish next week. . . all is well in the D W Clark Drainage realm.

DillyBob has been on holibob this week. You always know when he is away as the biscuit tin stays full, there is peace and quiet in the world and things tend to tickle along quite smoothly, the floorboards in the office don’t creak as much and none of that bang, biscuit, bang, biscuit, grind, biscuit, grind, biscuit, weld, biscuit, weld, biscuit, biscuit, swear, biscuit, biscuit, biscuit, swear, biscuit, biscuit, biscuit, that we usually get!

Been a short week but a good week lads, thanks for the hard work and laughs along the way. I trust you are all going to do the patriotic thing this weekend and celebrate our Queens Platinum Jubilee. 70 years in the same job! Eyes of the world on you always, can’t even nip down the shop in your rollers for 20 woodbines and pint of milk! Anyway, have a good few days off, hope the weather holds, see you all Monday to do it all again. Till then, stay safe and stay smiley 😊
