Why is this such a big deal???

Many countries have imported there food for centuries....

Youve spent a small fortune on military and are in bed with yanks...so why worry.

I think having import deals with lots of different countries and producing a lot of food yourself like the UK does, is good food security. Depending on all home grown is a little foolish in a number of ways.
Delilah wants to change the way the UK food system works which is a fair one, maybe it needs a change, but I think a lot of commentors on here just want a system that forces the population to give farmers more money and let them produce what they want when they want.

Eh??? The English want no imports yet still want to export their manufactured products....
Maybe time to grow up, the Empire is a distant glimmer of the past, the Commonwealth (Ooh what did that ever mean???) is just some irrelevant games every four years and nothing more.
Their not even a part of Europe....
Just abide by WTO rules just like most of the rest of the real world has too.
