Too early for T1?

I'm not generalising, but I've just been around my wheat crops, earliest mid October drilled Skyfall, latest early November drilled Cordiale, and on dissection have found the majority of leaf3 still tightly rolled up inside leaf4.

Given the cold weather this week and that I only got 2mm of rain over the weekend I can't see leaf 3 putting in an appearance this week. Also with dry weather forecast can I get away without putting so much on for T1, thinking about just epoxy + CTL? Then save the big guns for T2. Forgot to say it's all had T0 CTL or teb + CTL.

Wheats have stopped here. Leaf 3 half out on Skyfall last week and not much different now. If the wind drops will get last of liquid N on this week. Would rather scorch now than leaf 2, T1's can wait til next week

I've got some September drilled that's ready when I am, it'll be getting epoxi, folpet and some spigot for mildew.

I've also got some December belepi and that's a good way off yet but I'm going in with some MN asap so I'm thinking of putting the spigot in with that to tidy up the mildew in the bottom and come back in 10 days or so with the T1 when it's ready.

I must say apart from the mildew there's very little disease about at the moment so I can't see the rush.

Leaf 3 still 1/2 emerged in Diego, Siskin & Graham sown 1st week in October. Diego sown 10 days earlier has leaf 2 well out & may get a cheap shot on leaf 2 when fully emerged to cover the long 5 week gap to leaf 1 unfurled in late May.

Costello drilled 12th October about ready now for more ccc. Thinking of 1lt Amistar Opti and 0.5 Proline for T1 with some added tonic to help in these dry times. Any suggestions on the tonic?

I wasn't planning on starting until next week, but after checking last night I have found a lot of YR coming in Zulu so have started today with some extra Comet in the mix now !!
I'd planned to spray L2 as there's been hardly any blw or wild oat emergence in this dry spell, if we get the rain next week as forecast then T2 mixes might be getting a bit busy, so a L2 pass with just CTL will allow a bit of flexibility (I have loads of sprayer capacity :) )

The rest of the T1's will be spread over the next week on cleaner YR varieties.

T1s will be finished today. Just a bit of N to go on late emerging spring barley then wait for the wheat to rewax a bit before doing the last dose of liquid N later next week.
