I deleted it, no one else, but me, but I can repost itWhat happened to the photo of the self entitled lad with 2 bottles of Pommery and 3 candles in his mouth? Deleted because the pr*ck couldn't crack a smile?!
I've been thinking for years until farmers/contractors can charge similar to the main dealer for servicing per hour , we are truly undervalued .Cost of labour/hour: £18 (barely covers it particularly at overtime)
Cost of fuel at say trailer driving (20l/hr): £17
500hour service/£1200 = £2.40
Tyres = £1
So before depreciation and breakdowns you are already at £37.40/hour. So at £50/hour you're perhaps making a tiny profit if its going well. How many people factor in the cost of sorting out the job in the first place, quoting, invoicing, popping in to check on your operator if you are the manager/owner? Cost of insurance? And that doesn't even cover the same costs again on whatever your tractor turns up with - trailer tyres, maintenance, brake checks?
I think £100/hour is more reasonable to cover costs. Not going to happen unfortunately.
Or to look at another way maybe the main dealer prices are too highI've been thinking for years until farmers/contractors can charge similar to the main dealer for servicing per hour , we are truly undervalued .
One for the wife’s birthday present, to go with the ex demo mop?Why buy 2?
Went full cycle here off the back of that theory, got up to 2700 acres at one point off the back of what we owned initially, kept building and building off it until we had a modern fleet, got to the point it became a cut throat job contracting and didn't wish to be part of the party, so ditched anything on finance, most of the contract work and now have a super setup for the future and well over geared. It rode a few low points very well and put us in a far better situation than sitting stagnantThat sounds like farmers son contracting logic. Daddy has the farm and pays for the tractor anyway so if I do a bit extra it’s all profit (and I can be a contractor instead of doing the jobs dad wants) fine for what you have in mind as a favour for a neighbour but not great business.
what would you’re driver be doing instead? No harm for a day, bit different for weeks on end.
Na, if you pay £5 k in interest your tax bill will ( presuming you pay tax) be £5 k less. The only interest I know of that is not a deductible business expense is any that HMRC charge you.So if you pay £5k interest you save £1k tax…..
Profit will be £5k less. Tax bill is reduced by whatever rate you pay tax at - hopefully not 100%.Na, if you pay £5 k in interest your tax bill will ( presuming you pay tax) be £5 k less. The only interest I know of that is not a deductible business expense is any that HMRC charge you.
My point is 100 % of that 5k is a deductible business expense.Profit will be £5k less. Tax bill is reduced by whatever rate you pay tax at - hopefully not 100%.
Yep, but that doesn’t translate to 100% of it coming off your tax bill. £5k in interest will save somewhere between £1k and £2k in tax, for a 20% -40% taxpayer.My point is 100 % of that 5k is a deductible business expense.
