Will it? The OP has clearly indicated his desire to spend money to save tax(may not be the sole reason of course), hardly a sign of desperation. While people are spending to save tax I’m not sure machinery prices will come down. Doesn’t help those who don’t need to ‘save’ tax though.
i know a potato farmers whos ordered 5 new tractors so dont blame me

I can't see any prices dropping, the only hope is a dealer that's got stock that was bought in before the last price increase. Friend bought a specced up ,in stock Massey from a dealer he hates for £8000 less than his usual one could get one to order with no extras. Usual bloke fully supports the move and is happy to look after it. Some wouldn't,mind.
would you happen to know the model and price?

If thats true why is it used as an excuse when theyr putting prices up
Base metals in steel are a commodity like grain/oil etc so fluctuate in a similar manner.
Global manufacturing cost has not reduced.

Any price decrease offered is merely a reduction in mark up or the size of bite the dealer is getting.

There may be some deals to be had on individual available stock but very little else going forward.

The question is without subsidy how is it sustainable?

I would not expect any serious price changes from the current levels. We had a review of tractor manufacturing worldwide a few weeks ago and surprise surprise " India is on course to exceed the building of ONE MILLION tractors per annum in excess of 40hp".
this year.

Energy cost has went up & is continuing to do so, global inflation is driving everything up, global conflict creating instability which is contributing also.
Very doubtful if the tractor price will ever come down, prices may remain static for longer.
Any downward change we see in commodity pricing takes a while for the ripple to reach manufacturing if at all.
Production will slow rather than prices being reduced balancing the supply & demand keeping prices where they are.

Not correct, fuel and electricity are chaeper than after covid when derv was around £2 a litre. Funny how down prices takes a while to come through but up prices are near enough immediate even to the point they were rising the prices of equipment already ordered on a waiting list. If they have to limit production or go bust because of less demand theyl get very little sympathy from the rest of us that theyr just screwing at any given chance

I never see the problem with buying new machinery, some people like operating second hand and some people like operating new, isn't that what money is for,if you don't spend it on a tractor you can buy a new suite for a few grand, tractor then looks more affordable or justifiable
