4 tractors and men to do 60 acres a day , that's why trailed harvesters have got very scarce , we can do 60 acres a day with one wagon or two on a long draw.
Good looking swards of grass thereView attachment 703088

What's your problem.
Problem is more than likely the fact everyone else discusses the benefits of different systems and machines, you immediately come in and have a go at anyone who doesn't do it your way using your choice of machinery. What's your problem.
Your pickup reel is in grave danger filling from that side.View attachment 703160

you can work away at bales yourself though wheras you will need to pay outside labour/contractos fees for pit silage which offsets the plastic costCost of the wrap would pay for a proper clamp these days...
when you say wagon is that one of those pottingers that has a pickup reel on the front of it? i hear these are stupidly expensive?4 tractors and men to do 60 acres a day , that's why trailed harvesters have got very scarce , we can do 60 acres a day with one wagon or two on a long draw.
And his neck is in grave dangers filling on the other,Your pickup reel is in grave danger filling from that side.
i do 3500 a year with fusion baler wrapper no wasteage or contractors to pay, different quality stuff in different stacks am i a little farmer?Bales are for little farmers , too many bales are some pain.
Yes that's the one , but they are so efficient that they pay for themselves , when you add up the running cost of two tractors drawing in including fuel and wages what you save will pay for any new wagon.when you say wagon is that one of those pottingers that has a pickup reel on the front of it? i hear these are stupidly expensive?

how much roughly for the wagon and how long will it last? would one wagon be enough for my 220 acres of single cut bulky silage?Yes that's the one , but they are so efficient that they pay for themselves , when you add up the running cost of two tractors drawing in including fuel and wages what you save will pay for any new wagon.
I'm not running down any system , but I have owned every system so I know the running cost and benifits and disadvantages of every system, that is why wagons are growing in popularity and trailed harvesters are nearly a thing of the past. The wagon system is the most fuel effecient and has the lowest running cost of all systems and needs the least labour which is a very important point these days.Problem is more than likely the fact everyone else discusses the benefits of different systems and machines, you immediately come in and have a go at anyone who doesn't do it your way using your choice of machinery.
I have no issues with forage wagons but they wouldn't suit us at all, neither would bales or trailed harvester, so we use a spfh and I don't slag off any one else's choice of system.
