Trailer Lighting issues

Hi I have an issue with our Massey tractor and the trailer lights. They work fine on our led lighted trailers however one front and one rear side light on opposite sides on the tractor only works if you have a specific trailer plugged in. The side/tail lights on our normal bulbed trailers also completely don't work although indicators etc are fine. Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like your lights may be controlled by an ECU as opposed to individually fused .
Modern trucks for example work this way , they are wired front left to rear right on the lorry / tractor so that if you have a fault and you “ trip“ the internal “fuse” you always have at least one light front and rear at all times and don’t ever not have a rear light for safety.
Sounds like you have a specific fault on the side light on one side on your specific trailer tripping out the supply for one side of the tractor and that your bulbed trailers may be wired up to power all the trailer lights off only one side on the tractor.
Get a good trailer board and plug in to test the tractor side then work back .

Had a lighting problem on our fuel Bowser some lights worked some did not,it was caused by a bad earth on our truck socket.

Was just a simple fuse on tractor. I didn't realise the side lights were wired together on opposite sides. Apparently with led lights they use so little power it was then going back into the tractor and powering the fused circuit. 🤷 All sorted now though
