Treating a swollen joint

Have a heifer that cut her knee as a calf, resulting in an infection and swollen knee. Did her with A/B's for over a month, bathed her daily and tried to get the swelling down but it hasn't shifted. The cut has fully healed over and she can put weight on it but there's a huge lump that won't shift.

Anyone dealt with this before and had success? She's a well bred heifer so I really don't want to just put her down but it's not looking good.

If she's not lame it's not hurting just unsightly - let it be. Otherwise vet / down the road.

She's putting weight on it but not fully, it's definitely affecting her a bit. I'd be worried that as she gets older it will get worse and she won't be able to put weight on it. I've asked my vet and he said to get her off sooner rather than later but like I say if I could find a way to help her I'd much rather do that than just give up on her.

Try some Arnica, 80 tablet bottle cost £7- £8 she will need 3-4 tablets a day for a week . Don't touch the tablets just put in with her food or they will dissolve in with her water.

Cheers, never heard of them before but after some reading it seems they're worth a shot! Let her out for a few days there hoping to would help with the swelling but I think it might have gotten even worse.

And when you have finished with the Arnica put it somewhere safe.
then if you ever fall badly or the like take some as quick as you can, it's great stuff, have some in every tractor here,
