Tree root removal from field drain

With all the rain we have had recently our yard has started to flood. There is an inspection pit into which water is flowing, but not exiting a clay drain at the bottom of a small paddock. The exit is at the base of a stone wall with a good six feet of earth above it. I can get half a dozen drain rods into the exit before coming to a blockage, which feels like a tree root. Can't get any machinery onto the paddock, thinking about some form of root cutter. Any ideas ? Hire one/call in experts etc ?

Been there done that. Oak trees love septic tank outfall. They aim for the pipes. Then their roots just can’t get big enough quick enough and f**k the outfall.
A 360 is the only solution.
Osma do a ‘Root-proof’ couplings now with the seals in green. So if you visit your local merchant, look for the couplings with green rubber seals.
Sorted. Not cheap though.
