So the Lib Dems are going to plant 60 million trees per year, any thoughts as to where they might get planted and how much it will cost ?

not a chance.....politicians 'pledges' arn't worth crap....tories 'pledged' several thousand affordable homes in 2014....they've built NONE

after the stewardship fiasco which is just 5 yrs who the feck is going to trust them over 50

Planting trees is a good call , in the the right place with the suitable type, but after care is jusf as important.prolonged Dry times /seasons / soil in the first 2 or 3years and watering is necessary, else they'll die wasting time an d money.
Most of these ideas policies are about novelty , not long term interest /comittment

Where? Along river banks , and not just single file, not too close and leaving appropriate gaps distance for river access/ maintenance.
Theres still field corners that could take some, or bits of waste ground , public parks.
Replace the Ash , London plane and so on if they succumb to disease,
Plant varieties that can Cope.
