Evening all.

This Autumn we are planning a trip to new Zealand for a month. Having never been before am after some advice from people who have been on what to go and see and do. Also want to see some farming stuff and maybe meet a few farmers as a move over there is a possibility.

Thanks in advance

John

There's no bad place much but greymouth is not the best place to visit, it's a true working town and some of the west coast can be a bit desertated at times .travelled from 90 mile beach top of the North Island to Milford haven in the south . 6 weeks all in a hired camper van 1st jan till mid February . Highly recommend bay of islands in North Island , Napier if you like wine , Rotoraura for the volcanic etc . South Island we spent more in as have family in Christchurch area and timaru . Six weeks was hardly enough though as we seem to be constantly on the move and certainly didn't see everything . We took a lonely planet guide and planned every couple of days from there . Very useful for campsite and restrauants . We had one bad meal in 6 weeks so would recommend its uses and info . Only thing we booked in UK was flights visa and vehicle 3 weeks before we went . Very friendly people and amazing how many ex pats you run into . In 1994 worked there and didn't see loads was like 50-60s Britain in places even 30-40 in the back roads last time we was there in 2010 with wife on h moon could see a massive change in 16 years in 3 different visits

4 weeks is probably only really enough time for 1 island, but if you are having a scout, you will most likely want to do both.
If you are serious about looking at prospects , most likely spend most time down south but it is all worth a good look, nothing is bad.
I would think first, what do you want to see?

Depends how you wanna get about and how you wanna get your head down at night. If your not worried abiut either, camper your way around. 4 weeks isnt long. Id concentrate on 1 island, especially if your thinking of heading back. Took me and mrs 5 weeks to do loop around s island and we hardly touched the tip of what was available

Backward is good. It's summer here!
If you've only got a month, do the north island.. take you 2 months to do the south island as the roads are full of road-maggots at the moment.. [emoji124] be faster to walk

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
