Tulissin versus Zactran

My go to antibiotic for treating calves with pneumonia has been Zactran for a good many years. However, after talking with my vet last week it seems it has some gaps where mycoplasma might be an issue. The vet recommended Tulissin and said that it was slightly more expensive. Well it’s more per bottle by as the dose rate is 1ml per 40Kg rather than 1ml per 25kg with Zactran it actually works out cheaper than Zactran per kg LW.
Question is is it as good?
Anyone on here using Tulissin or who has changed to it from Zactran who has any comments or experience they can share.
TIA

Just been googling a bit about Tulissin and it seems it’s nothing more than generic Draxxin 🤦
Was using that in the past before I changed to Zactran 🤦🤦
I need to learn more about the a.i. names for
animal drugs like I know for crop chemicals

I've been given tuliovet (or something like that) instead of zactran here, which I think is probably similar stuff, seemed to do the job.

Tulissin is a cheaper generic version of Draxxin.

If Zactran is working with your calves then i would personally not change to anything else unless you get problems/ are going to buy calves from a farm with a known problem that Zactran does not cover.

All very well saving a £1 or so a calve but that saving will soon go up the wall if what you switch to does not work and you get problems down the road with the new product.

Used it as my main pneumonia drug this last 2 years. Only went onto it due to price with Draxxin loosing its exclusivity. For me it’s been excellent. Was on with Zactran which is also excellent. I would put Micotil top the other 2 joint second place with not much between first and second place. Used it for feet jury is still out on that seems to work though

@JSmith has tried it and raves about it 👍
Tulieve what’s we’ve been using, same stuff different name, works very well on bad feet, tried draxin and didn’t get on with it at all but this new stuff is very effective! Vet said she couldn’t see why there should be any difference as it’s basically the same drug under a different name, I can only report on what we’ve seen,

They are both macrolides and have a similar range. Although Zactran might not have m.bovis on the label it should cover it, baring in mind m.bovis is hard to treat anyway.
Always found it came down to personal preference.
