How many have rams out already?

After 4 days I have 25% of the ewes covered already, rams seems to have got of to a flier.

One individual group is 35%!

Ewes are in good nick after a wet August and lots of grass so I hope scanning will be good as well.

I've only teasers out at the moment, 1 less than planned as they've been fighting and killed him

Only a very small flock of 20... but mine went out 2 weeks ago tomorrow and just under half covered. Not teased but normally they are all covered in first cycle, same dates as last year too. They too started off well but the shearlings are taking their time, and they make up half the flock this year Contemplating giving my Dorset tup the snip next year and using him as a teaser.

Early mob and pedigrees all tupped up (two cycles over) - except for one shearling Lincoln who covered everything twice his 10 ewes are having to go another cycle with another tup to make sure he's not a Jaffa )

Late mob tups and 'hill' tups still on R&R awaiting bonfire night

Teasers out with the ewe lambs today. Normally only dabble with ewe lambs, putting the biggest 40-50. Got 200 going to the ram this year, so looking like a fun filled next April

Rams have been out with my pedigree ewes and ewe lambs for a few days. Was going to lamb in March, but then went and bought a share in a ram which would be needed elsewhere in October, so had to sneak a few days earlier. Ewes going slowly, but there teased oestrus would have been before the entire rams went in, with the aim of catching their second cycle. December born ewe lambs on teh other hand are 20% covered in 3 days, having had the teasers in a bit later.

ET donors have been inseminated, and due to flush on Monday.

Main mob of crossbreds & mongrels won't be tupped until November 5th, as usual.

No December lambs this year, for the first time in 29 years.

Suffolk tups have been with the TexX ewes for a fortnight come Monday, hopefully just acting as a teaser upto now.

Texel stock tup is with the handful pures, he has a harness - no marks yet.

500 ewes are priming currently, rams will be out in 2-3 weeks. This is all just same as usual.

But I have 140 ewe lambs getting 1lb/hd feed to try and get them big enough (they are a decent size this year but still borderline for tupping). Haven't any rams for them yet but the plan is to try it and see how we get on they are still 4-6 weeks away

Haven't rams bought yet. May use all terminals, getting right sick of wooly barstewarding things.

Rams have been in about a fortnight. Lots of raddle marks. Teasers in with ewe lambs and the second flock.

130 all served for early feb lambing, a few rams went out with 400 on Thursday, in the ewes 8% served within first 12 hours but always expect that. All on very old poor ground to keep scanning around 185%.
Another 600 ewes going to ram next Friday, then 10 days after another 450-500 (ewe lambs and brokers)

Rams back off next weekend, after 4 weeks in with the earlier ewes for 1st feb lambing.
Don't raddle so can't say how they've gotten on, but since starting using teasers, probably 75-80% of ewes lamb in the first 10days/ 2 weeks

Rams went back out last week to catch any that did not hold or were not cycling back in August, scanner coming in two weeks to let me know how busy over Christmas I will be in the lambing shed. Same numbers as last year.

Rams out 10 days now and 15 marked so far out of 80. A lot of first time hoggets tho
