Two businesses busing the same CPH

Can two businesses use the same CPH number and just have separate herd/flocks. So the one CPH will have two different herd/ flock numbers under different names.

Yes , a few farmers have different herd marks for sons / daughters own animals

We run a split holding under same cph number . It’s a grazing agreement let. It’s a bit annoying as the cph number comes up as my neighbours details . I have questioned it to dept of ag but they were bit confused over it too so just left as Is.

Okay my dad has a CPH and his herd number we apply for a new herd number under my name and keep separate books. What will happen with the farm assurance, will my herd be covered under the same assurance policy as his?
