Anyone? I was sold it as a twose roller but have no proof that it is and cannot seem to find the make to hunt out the correct bearings

Haven't seen an old land roller with bearings in there yet. Usually just just a few spacers/big washers in there to take up the slap and the wooden block bearings at the ends.

This roller doesn't have roller bearings. It can and should have resin/fibre wide bushes if I remember correctly. This one was obviously never greased or oiled as it should have been daily. You can dismantle the thing but the axle may have worn into the drum tubes through misuse and made the bushes a slack fit.
No idea whether bushes are still available for these but presumably they are, because they are just plain tubes about half an inch thick by about nine inches long.

Keep in mind that it is about 40 years since I last saw one of these, possibly longer, so my recollection may be a bit hazy.

So thats just an over thought spacer. How much play should there be, between the drums and the shaft as this looks like a lot?
There should be a few mm each side so the the gap between the drums is so minimal that it prevents the drums tilting on the shaft and bushes. This evens out the load on the axle shaft and prevents it flexing. Not so tight that it wears the adjusting thrust surfaces, which is what the grease nipples lubricate, not the bearings. I squirt oil at least daily anywhere and everywhere I think it would be beneficial.
I hope you didn't pay much for this worn out heap.

No not a great deal. When it said bearings worn out thought thats simple- replace the block of wood. Yes I agree the previous owner obviously didnt understand what grease is for

i have just rebuilt one of these, bought unseen at auction, not my best buy! had to machine an individual bush for each end of both drums, used a heavy wall steel pipe, all i could find this size, not sure how long it will last, the bolts for tightening the end play are a funny thread, bsw maybe, two of them sheared so next job drill them out and tap to metric size

Did you ever find the plastic bushes to fit in ends of the roll sections? I have same roller and need to replace bushes again. Have fitted at least 2 sets before but can't get hold of them now
