Combining today. Air con working a treat. Just finishing and sun went in so I turned the AC down and saw a puddle by my feet. Opened the air intake filter under the seat and found this on the evaporator...

What's causing this? It took a roll of blue rag to soak up the water.
Google says low gas. But the low pressure warning light is off.

Last week I had the seat off and fitted a new blower fan. It seems like a big coincidence that it has happened just after I was poking around in there. Would the thermostat make it ice up? Maybe I knocked it...
Any ideas?

You had it set too cold and the thermostats abit lazy- shouldn't be running long enough to freeze the coed-y have u dislodged the probe out of the core ??.

So, drain tubes were blocked, blown them out. Wiggled thermostat probe, making sure it is seated well. Ran for half an hour, no ice.
Don't think it will be the blower speed as I've just fitted a new blower and it blows much more than the old one did last year.
Will test if for longer this afternoon when I get cutting again, sounds like if it ices again its definitely the thermostat...

The faulty thermostat I had just run and run until it was too cold, needs sorting, if its constantly running it will damage the system eventually, but to keep going, switch off the AC for periods

Why on earth can white goods manufacturerers turn out fridges and freezers by the 10's of 1000's and they work without interference for 20 years yet with vehicle systems a season's use is the best they can do ?
