Civil disobedience reaches a new level of genius

That is absolutely hilarious. Imagine the clipboards, meetings, paperwork and circular discussions that this is generating within the corridors or UK bureaucracy 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I did read it.

They can only take them down if there’s not a bat inside, so someone has to check.

There’s laws about who can even do that.

Well, there is for laymen anyway. If you’re a homeowner doing building work that requires a bat survey, it is illegal to even enter the loft space and photograph the creatures for purposes of doing it yourself.

But this will be one of those HS2 type situations where different rules apply, depending on who’s paying and who’s been inconvenienced.

If you don’t know there is a bat in the loft, surely it cannot be illegal to enter the loft?

If you know they’re there, and tell the bat survey lady you’ve already gone up and taken pictures to save her going up the awkward access to look, you get a very stern talking to outlining precisely the laws involved and then you’re advised to delete said images and she’ll say no more about. 😗👀

Ah! First mistake there…trying to be helpful and them feeling threatened you are doing them out of a job.

If only you had been able to record the conversation…..I think her hot water might have been deeper than yours. Especially if you explained you were only up in the loft to retrieve your camera, and it was only when you tested it to check that it still worked that the flash went off and startled a bird….but on late inspection of the photograph it turned out in fact to be a bat.

😂

Do the droppings not look near identical? ;)
Err ....no.

They do look like mouse droppings but not rats. The bat inspector that last visited took great delight in explaining how to tell the difference between bat and mouse droppings.
Apparently you can tell by squeezing them between thumb and forefinger and smearing them at the same time. I think one crumbles and the other just smears.
Not sure which as I wasn't paying too much attention, I was too busy thinking how I had absolutely no intention of ever doing it and he was a dirty barsteward.
