Unwanted 22/22 Herringbone Parlour

Hey. So we sold the herd in 2012 and used the parlour to milk the odd heifer, as we saw the followers out. Hasn't been used for about two years. It has an ATL system with auto id, auto ACRs and milk weighing
Now we are thinking about tidying it all up and shifting it on. My question is, what are people after when they want a second hand parlour? Do they want all the feeders? All the iron work? The whole thing? Just gonna start tidying up a little and wondered what to really do with it (not planning on taking any thing apart yet)
Thanks

And there is a demand for that?
That's how we bought the parlour we bought to extend our existing. Husband, his brother and nephew went between milkings, took it to bits (so he knew how it went back together) and brought it home.
Try advertising it (on here) and see if anyone bites-or try your local dealer to see if they have anyone in line for it.

Farmers guardian is a good paper to advertise in. A lot of guys in Ireland still setting up into milk and buy second hand parlours or extending existing ones.

Hey all. The original parlour was Gascoigne then extended in early nineties. The ATL system and the direct lines were installed around 2001. Pipework then was by Fabdec. Couple of pics taken last night. Haven't put the pressure hose round it all yet!

We bought a s/h herringbone 2 years ago. Buyer to dismantle which in our case meant professional parlour fitters (it has a lot of gizmos and we would never have had the time or expertise). They had fitted it in the first place and they moved it to us and fitted it here.
We bought everything except the feed augers and bin which were knackered; we bought new augers to fit our shed and used our existing bin. The stallwork and feeders are older than the plant but OK for us. We did not need the plate cooler but sold it on, we did not want the bulk tanks.

How much did it cost in the end?

New shed £14k
s/h all singing all dancing 12/12 parlour £15k
Removing and fitting £6.6k
New feed augers and fitting £3k
Electrics, heaters, lights etc £5.5k

Additional electrical work as went onto 3 phase at same time - move PTO generator etc £3k

We did not supply any labour or materials to speak of.

Below our budget of £50k so we were pleased, esp as there was more electrical work needed because of the 3 phase upgrade, moving genny etc.

Suspect the fitters lost money on it as they came out quite a few times in the first year due to issues with the wash cycle.

Well done I'd say you had a victory for us farmers vs fitters! Feeders seem bloody cheap aswell

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
