So the US health insurance giant Centene quietly takes control of over 49 NHS GP practices in the UK and states an aspiration to acquire more and this gets close to zero coverage in the media ? Why are you not all outraged ? The NHS is being sold off before your very eyes

From what I can see this got more coverage in the French and Belgian media than it did the UK's. A Francophone Belgian journo called it, "The beginning of the end for social healthcare in Britain once the Americans buy it all"
The quiet unseen privatisation of the NHS

Well these are private businesses now so no change there, the crunch is the cost to the nhs to provide the services they are contracted to and the quality of the service they provide to patients, time will tell but SOME gp practices provide a very poor service. As a general rule I wouldnt be in favour of this deal, however mrs works as a health visitor and the running of this service here was taken over by virgin care, while they still have too many managers the service is now run in a 21st century way instead if a 1947 way. The staff think it's much better which says a lot imvho

Look it up. I have a friend who has epilepsy and had to wait nearly a week for a call back. In the end she handed the phone to me and the GP was a joke. Ooh ahh, not sure. Covid meh. F off on your guaranteed £100k salary and your gold plated pension. Useless.
Shocking!
Do you think if there was a fee ( reimbursed) it would get rid of time wasters and / or improve the service?

Our doctors are the same , 4 days for an appointment if you're lucky , waste of space , better going to the drop in centre if you're ill , better doctors too

It might. Anything is worth a try but not US privatisation hopefully.
Our village is colloquially known as Gods waiting room , yet although we have a purpose built health centre the knobs that have taken it over run it from a semi 2 miles down the road , wtf is that about

Ruddy hell it's got to be younger than the average rural French village. It's actually one of the good things about living here it makes us still feel young. :ROFLMAO:

Errrr the bulk of GP services are already privatised. There is no law that I am aware of that says anyone can't own a GP practice, even some American hedge fund. Even TFF members could own one I suspect?

You can pay to use a GP privately if you want.
I already do, it’s called taxation.
