Using PGR at the three-leaf stage of spring barley

Just read an article in which some one quoted that "Using a PGR which has label clearance at the three-leaf stage can enhance tiller survival, increase crown root mass and boost yields of spring barley by 0.25t/ha?

How much independent published data is out there that supports the use of PGR at 3- leaf stage increase tillers and root ? are we not spraying on bare ground? I have tried to google and found this. Any comments /views will be appreciated

This is why I pay my subs to TAG for advice without a vested sales interest. There's will be lots of slick agronomy presentations that help the sales of PGRs for "rooting benefits" this spring to keep the distributors busy! You tell me - you used to work for one...
