How many other Virus going to come along?
Precisely. We have got to think beyond vaccination because we are likely to be beaten. Primitive organisms have the beating of us because of their rapid mutation. Nothing clever about that but the simpler the organism the simpler and more rapid the mutation. We are not in the same league when it comes to adabtability

The common cold isn’t one single virus....it’s a variation isn’t it? There are 3 or 4 that exist each year which is why you can catch it several times.

Also, I doubt it’s economically viable to combat. It doesn’t cost our economy or freedoms so not worth throwing hundreds of billions at.

This coronavirus is the biggest threat to our species in a long time so is worth it.
*biggest threat to our economy.

Agree with the rest.

6-8 mutations already of CV19

First infection was milder strain in UK and Europe in December and JAN, this year

Some believe this more deadly March and April/May cases we are seeing currently is actually the second wave & this is from a more infectious and stronger variant

3rd wave - who knows?

How’s that for a conspiracy theory ?

Maybe not far from the real truth though and the French have confirmed cases from swabs taken on 17/12/2019

Lot of people poorly with flu like chest infections over Xmas and JAN, not enough to kill them until it mutated

If it was in China in October & November 2019 you can bet that it was in Europe in late Nov and December 2019 - such is the speed of air travel now
3rd wave haven't even had 2nd yet!

What if a new virus released every year?????
Not worth thinking of ?
We will get on with it. Our ancestors lived with every nasty under the sun, tb, typhoid, cholera and everything else.

Not targeting you but the way some people are talking about locking down forever, life never going back to normal unless there is a vaccine is bordering on ridiculous.

Isn't it logical to vaccinate everybody or the percentage that go under the radar will carry on spreading it .
It's like having a flock of sheep but only dosing 75% of them and hope the rest dont catch something but easily might do and drop dead

It is logical but you won't get all.

In some people, vaccines don't have any efficacy, for whatever reason. In other people, they can't have the vaccine because of an existing condition.

The primary aim of any healthcare system is that of public health, individual health is secondary to that.and rightly so.

A high level of vaccination will in theory keep the risk of the virus spreading to those who have not been vaccinated persons very low.
