Thinking about that place , November is a funny time of year to launch a place like that near Dumfries surely?

£400k more than Vale house but with £20k of SFP and a cottage to let at £5k a year and a far far better place likely to generate more surely(y).

You will just have to put up with @grumpy and his Mr Salmond(n)

Bound to be, I suppose; both very charming people who said the nicest things about Carmarthenshire.

The father is I think recently retired and it's the son who is the farmer, with a flock of early lambers?

We've been invited over to have a look-see, so we'll pop over next time we bump into them. If you see 'em before then, remind us to them.

Will do!

Yep that sounds like him. Proper good chap he is (y)

This place very close to where i live, 10-15 miles. When the weathers bad here, i'm in the bottom of the valley here, it's 10 times worse up there! Also can be sunny here and up there either blowing a gale, pouring down, or a blizzard up there, maybe even all 3 at once!

Used to do a bit of work up there for a contractor i worked for at the time, there is some farmable land, by farmable i mean suitable for making old land hay or silage, if its dry enough that you can actually travel that is.

Cant help you with how many sheep it would hold i'm afraid as i'm not in the know about such things really. But up there the only thing you could really stock sheep wise is Swaledales or the like.

Also you might want to avoid some of the neighbours that farm either side. www.cumbriacommunitymessaging.co.uk/da/56313
