Valtra Versu

Technical question !!!

so on the versu transmission I’ve got pto cruise speed set for 450 rpm on the sprayer. When I set cruise speed of 12k it knocks the pto cruise out. Am I right in thinking I need to set range in B and set max speed to 12k and just use drive lever to speed up and slow down by pushing forwards or backwards?

you can’t have the engine/pto speed set on a cruise function then try to have a cruise speed Set as well, as the engine needs to adjust its speed to maintain the cruise speed. We have a pre smart touch one, between 1&2 and 3&4 it can be a bit harsh when changing down when doing heavy draft work.

Sorry, think it’s impossible, to maintain a cruise speed it would have to adjust it’s rev’s, which would be impossible as it would also be trying to keep a constant rpm to maintain pto speed.

Yep that’s the conclusion I arrived at. My other thought was to run sprayer pump with a hydraulic pump. Set pump at 450 on spool and then run tractor in cruise control.

I was having the same problem today trying to get it to go to cruise speed on a baler, figured if I set the cruise speed at the speed I was at in that power shift it would work, but no, it knocked the revs all to buggery and went up the gears...... But.... You could get the same effect by setting the max power shift to (4 in my case), and then once you're rolling shove the lever immediately forwards past the detent and let it go, it will go through the power shifts till it gets to 4...
