For field work use, not as much as you might think.

I recall a study which found that it was cheaper to fit new tyres at about 50% wear than to try wearing them down further. The reduced grip would increase fuel use and slow down the work rate.

Worn tyres also seem to pad the ground a lot more.

A couple of useful replies there.....thats a fair comment about the ground....i remember drilling some barley with worn tyres....letting a lot of air out of them thinking....they'll spread the weight..... Caused compaction as seen in the growing crop

200 quid...worth keeping them all for spares....no cuts... no repairs of any kind ..theyve done 3800 hours.....quite a bit of roadwork in there. We always end up running them down and the tractor gets poor in grip

There can be some dreamers on this site in the link but stuff sells all the same.
see what this fellow wants for his set.., have a browse.

I have 2 verdistein's 600/65/38 on the back of a tractor here, somewhere between 40-50mm thread left on them, clean tyres, there is years of life in them yet for me or someone else, they aren't leaving here for less than €700 min, €800 is what id want and that's just two.
when you price up 2 new tyres , trelliborgs in my case, 7-800 is a bargain for a clean worn pair what will do a hell of a lot of farmers about here the very best.

Definitely worth 700 or 800 anyways about a month ago I had a set of 520/70/38 and 420/70/28s back tyres about 30% fronts maybe 10% left got €500 for them with plenty of calls.
