value of grazing

I have land taken up to £150 per acre not counting entitlements (have to be leased after).

Land going here for up to £275 per acre not counting entitlements.

f**kin crazy and no end of farmers looking to give it

How long is the grazing? Cattle, sheep or both? Nothing over £45 here and that’s for better parks that we can shut for hay if it gets too strong.

Sounds similar to some rented land we have. Some of it is SSSI most of the rest has been changed to Low input grassland which is bugger all fert can’t cut untill July and it’s poor grassland. It was £45/acre before the change we are negotiating it down.

sh!t fencing , sh!t access ,token gesture water , acidic soil ,no handling ,no checking , never been reseeded since ww2 No sub as some how the 120 year old owner is an active farmer oh and no cattle allowed got to be at least £200 acre .
Are their any grass let’s the opposite of this ? They really will be 200 acre as I suspect they are mighty rare .

So the landlord collects the BPS, Nature money and still wants rent !! :eek:

Charge him for your livestock ............. he probably needs to graze livestock to get the nature money !

Completely pointless farming it on your own if that is the case. I would rent my ground out if those prices were in this area.
