Venturi primers

I’ve seen a bit of advertisement for these and was wondering if someone could enlighten me on how the whole system works and if it is an improvement over the small hydraulic driven vacuum pump on my soda l35. I’m mainly curious what people use to generate the vacuum in the first place.

Surely all venturies mean that n airflow is disrupted by a flap or other which creates a lower pressure on the far side thus creating suction on a tube

It isbut the OP asked where the vacuum came from to work the primer
Dave designed his to work off the compressor as 99%of slurry guys use a compressor so equals less kit to cart aboutbut that's teaching you to suck eggs

I really think we are talking on cross purposes. I was trying to explain the principal of a venturi. I was uinaware of the use in this case.

We use one on our Bauer now and its 10 times better, if it won’t prime in 20 seconds there’s a problem somewhere else, it’ll prime anything from water too box muck it’s just the limit of what the pump can pump

A venturi is a small outlet in a larger pipe
Can work off vacuum(engine) or pressure(as above)

As said above they are spot on I’ve tested mine they pull 0.5bar vacuum which is plenty to prime any slurry pump even with muck way too thick to pump I’ve sold quite a few and some people have made there own quite a popular way to prime now
