vibrating roller vs wacker plate

anyone have any knowledge about the compacting effect of a vibrating roller against a wacker plate? I want to compact some hardcore and would rather use a wacker plate. Anyone have a figures for science of compaction. I've looked on the google and can't much more than opinions

I got a wacker plate and single drum bomag. Not even camparable

Wacker plate for small areas ,roller for big ,,a roller puts all its weight into a small contact area ,a plate is all over

I have a two wacker neuson plates ,a VP1135 for small fiddly jobs and a WP 1550 ,that weighs 90kg and is brilliant for thumping base material in

I compacted while backfilling an underground slatted tank with a whacker plate for 8 hours and I thought I was going to die.

Unless it is in a fiddly corner get a motorised roller if you want to survive.

One of them diesel remote control wacker plates looks handy! Wonder if you could set it up with autosteer!!! Take it around the perimiter once........

We but some hardcore down and used a 2t roller, if you have any solid bits stuck up it just goes over them. I think if you have a steel track excavator leveling the hardcore down in the first place you won’t beat tracking about with that as it will grind all the high points down. Also shakes any re bar loose so you can just pick it off the top.

Must hold their value well then. I was going on used prices. Don't see them less than £5/600
