Recently purchased a vicon spreader PS302 which needs some attention. I have removed the aluminium housing from the flywheel and replaced the bearing which was in poor condition. I continue to have a problem when I engage the pto shaft, the spreader runs ok at low rpms but when I increase the speed the spreader starts to vibrate and gets progressively worse. I am wondering what the problem is ? (The spreader is empty when I am testing it)
The bearings on the back end of the wishbone and the centre spreader shaft seem to be in good condition and no play can be detected on them. However the rubber coupling fitted to the spreader flywheel shaft has worn down and is off centre and the covering plate which is part of the shaft is also off to one side alot. Could this be my problem or is there something else that I should be examining ?
Another problem is the bottom edge of the plate which allows the manure out of the hopper is cutting into the plastic basin underneath and has cut completely through a third of the circumstance of the basin. The plastic cover which the plate sits on (is fitted to) may have spread from wear and tear causing this to happen. The plate itself appears to be in good condition and sitting properly on the top of the plastic cover. Any solution to this problem, maybe grind down the edge of the plate with a grinder so it does not touch the basin ?
Thanks
