Spent most of the day topping an old hedge with loppers and chainsaw.
got up to 13.2c today and was a pleasure to work in.Down hill next week I'm afraid.

Mine went out today into a small paddock next to the buildings (gate from cattle yard to paddock) they can still come in if they want and silage is in the yard. Lovely sunny day even if it was a bit chilly but nice to see the cows get a bit of exercise and the calves running about.

likewise done just the same cows were all sunbathing earlier would be even nicer if not for the wind

Not a chance the gfs is currently akin to blow a bubble and make a wish at that range.Even the METO disregard it's output way before that range.

Any idea when it is going to improve. Weatherman keeps saying its warming up but it never seems to happen. Bloody poor forecast for this week!!!

Upper air is warming,but that's an entire different ball game regards ground conditions.
As i mentioned before the transition to warmth always had the threat of wet conditions with a potential cold feed north of the Midlands.

I'm struggling to see any positives at present for the entire month of April.
GFS is certainly trying to prolong the cold.

I keep smelling a nice earthy smell like the soils finally warmed up here, and I've just been wondering if some field are actually looking slightly green

Defo greening of the south facing fields here.saying that we haven't really seen them for snow since January.
Lambing starts on the 18th up here and the precip has to be of main concern if we get an Easterly feed over the current low SST'S
