Wasps 2021

I was sitting out on the lawn a short while ago having a cream tea and thought about 2021 summer & autumn.I have not seen a Wasp anywhere this season,where are they ? Last year they were everywhere,what going on ?

They are here! No shortage, if you'd like some. I have been stung quite badly twice this Summer and there must be half a dozen nests that I know about

Never been stung before but have been 3 times in past month.
And coincidence or not but each time it happened, the next day I felt like I'd been hit by a bus ???

I smacked a post into a ground nest of wasps……..

Queue me running around like a loon stripping my shirt of…..and 6 bites.

They were mini wasps. Lot smaller than normal ones but the buggers hurt.

Usually get quite a lot with having Plum trees and end up getting rid of at least one nest, can't say I've seen above a dozen critters this year.

Got to be careful as Mrs N suffers badly from being stung.

Aberdeenshire, 6 nests in house roof, two in sheds and a real doozy that got washed out of a tree. Worst year for wasps in the 16 years we have been here.

I stood on a wasp nest today and got stung 12 bloody times . Dropped my chainsaw and could only retrieve it by hooking the handle with a tine on the Teleporter muck grab .

Hardly seen a wasp this year and not many hornets - and thank goodness none of the fecking Asian ones.

Worth keeping some anti-histamine tablets in the house in case of stings.

My little orchard has been a feeding ground for them ,,every fallen apple had a gang of the little buggers feasting on them,,lass across the road had a nest in the loft ,,when the sun came round on the entrance to the nest ,you couldnt stand on the drive ,,think they were all p1ssed up on cider from my apples

Petrol and a thrown match....

However, thiis is not useful if in a bay of straw...

The foaming insecticides in an aerosol works well in my experience.
