As lincs lass above say. Pipe into bottom of tank. Pump out. We normally tape the pipe to a measuring stick to stop it bending. We also use water detection paste to see what level the water is to.Got water in the bottom of a heating oil tank .

Yes tilted back too. There should always be a drain-plug at the back of any fuel tank, which should always be at a lower point than the draw off point. This should be used to drain off the condensate on a regular basis.
It rarely is giving rise to multiple prolems from condensation
No drain points in bunded plastic tanks. Only in steel single skins. There should always be a drain-plug at the back of any fuel tank, which should always be at a lower point than the draw off point. This should be used to drain off the condensate on a regular basis.

Alot of the time we find it is broken vent points etc that don't help. Be surprised what will creep through hairline cracks in the tank too.Washers normally perish around the fill connection threads! Had to have over 200 litres of water pumped out of our 3500 litre kero tank on my house recently, boiler goes a bit better now!
No wonder people have problems, you can beat the laws of physicsNo drain points in bunded plastic tanks. Only in steel single skins.
Actually you can get bungs in bunded steel tanks but the bloody things are so heavy they rarely get fitted as customers go for bunded plastic instead. No wonder people have problems, you can beat the laws of physics
If there is a layer of water it won't take it all out. The outlet is higher that the bottom of the tank.Filter bowl should take it out. If its doesn't fit a bigger one off an old tractor. Did this on a car once that had water in thr petrol , used every drop
What you don't see don't harm you lol ,If there is a layer of water it won't take it all out. The outlet is higher that the bottom of the tank.
